ATK lost their first match of ISL 2019-20 season against Kerala Blasters but they took no time to recover from their defeat and bounced back quickly. ATK hammered the newly formed team Hyderabad FC with a 5-0 win on Friday, October 25, 2019, at the Yuba Bharati Krirangan (Salt Lake Stadium). Hyderabad FC were completely outperformed by the Kolkata-based team with David Williams and Edu Garcia scoring two goals each. The win saw ATK move to the top position in the points table and Hyderabad to the bottom because of a very poor goal-difference. ATK troubled the visitor's goalkeeper throughout the 90 minutes with 12 shots on target. As for Hyderabad, they managed to get only one shot on target. Surprisingly Hyderabad enjoyed the majority of the possession (56 per cent) in their thumping defeat.
