John Gregory to leave the Chennai job?
In the post-match interview, John Gregory stated that it's about time he and the owner of Chennaiyan FC have a conversation about his future in the club. Gregory stated that Vita Dani (owner of Chennaiyin FC) has been very supportive for two years but the team has experienced a dip in form since then. According to the Englishman, every member of Chennaiyin FC considers themselves to be a member of a very good club and their recent form is painful to watch. The 2017-18 ISL winning coach said that he has carried the club on his shoulder and it's not easy to see them struggling like the way they are now.
John Gregory added that managing Chennaiyin FC is a big responsibility and it might be time for somebody else to take over the job. Gregory added that this is the worst he has felt in two and a half years being with the club. Gregory is hoping that the upcoming international break will give everybody time to reflect and maybe make some improvements for the remaining season. John Gregory lastly said that there are another 14 games in the season to play but looking at the ongoing situation he does not think his team will pick many points in the coming weeks.
