'Will Always Remain A Legend': Mbappe Hails Idol Ronaldo Ahead Of Portugal vs France Euro 2024 QF

France's superstar Kylian Mbappe is all set to go head to head with idol Cristiano Ronaldo when France and Portugal face off in a heavyweight Quarterfinal encounter at Euro 2024. 

There is no secret that Cristiano Ronaldo has been the biggest inspiration for Real Madrid's latest Galactico and French National Team Captain Kylian Mbappe. Ahead of their faceoff in the Quarterfinal of Euro 2024, Kylian Mbappe spoke highly of Cristiano Ronaldo and his impact on football.

Kylian Mbappe raves about Cristiano Ronaldo 

France's captain Kylian Mbappe attended the prematch press conference and despite Cristiano Ronaldo's patchy form in Euro 2024, Mbappe raved about his idol.  

He was clear that it is an honour to play against Ronaldo in such a huge clash but he hoped that France will beat Portugal in the Quarterfinal. 

"It's an honor, everyone knows the admiration I have for him. We are always in contact. He will remain a legend of the game but we hope to win," said Kylian Mbappe on Cristiano Ronaldo.

He further said that whatever happens in the Euros, Cristiano Ronaldo will forever be a legend of the sport. 

“No matter what happens in Euros, if Cristiano Ronaldo wins or loses, if he plays well or not. With someone like him you’re not looking at details anymore. He’s a legend, big respect for everything he has done. He inspired a generation, including me,” said Kylian Mbappe.

Kylian Mbappe further revealed that him and Cristiano Ronaldo are always in contact with each other and there will not be any other player in world football that can replicate what Cristiano did. 

“Me and Cristiano Ronaldo are always in contact. Cristiano Ronaldo is an idol, a man that inspired an entire generation. He is unique, legendary. There will never be another Cristiano Ronaldo", said Kylian Mbappe.

The last time Kylian Mbappe and Cristiano Ronaldo faced each other on international duty was back in Euro 2020 when both Portugal and France played out a 1-1 draw.
