LaLiga: Before Real Madrid, Liverpool almost signed Rodrygo
Blumer while speaking with to a sports outlet confirmed that there was strong interest from Liverpool for Rodrygo when he was in their youth team
Real Madrid's 18-year-old Rodrygo has been turning heads since the time he made his debut for the Los Blanco. The Brazilian found the net on his debut for Real Madrid when he came on as a substitute in the 82nd minute. The immensely talented Brazilian broke the internet when he scored his first Champions League’s hat-trick against Galatasaray on Matchday 4. In the absence of Gareth Bale, Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane chose Rodrygo to replace Bale and the teenager didn't fail to deliver. Rodrygo is considered to be the next big thing and if things go right, he has enough potential to set new records at Real Madrid.
Before Rodrygo joined Real Madrid, Liverpool were in for the Brazilian
Rodrygo's former manager Elano Blumer revealed that another European club was also very interested in getting hold of the teenager before Real Madrid sealed the deal with Santos for €45 million. Blumer while speaking with to a sports outlet confirmed that there was strong interest from Liverpool for Rodrygo when he was in their youth team. But the deal eventually went off as Liverpool couldn't match the expectation of Santos for the Brazilian. Blumer claims to know Rodrygo better than others and stated that Rodrygo showed great character from a young age. He further added that there are very few players that are like Rodrygo since the time they are young. Blumer said that Rodrygo is technically gifted and he has got great control with his movements.
