Lionel Messi was left in tears after he was substituted in the Copa America Final when his old injury aggravated in the second half of the play.
In a heartbreak for the Argentina fans at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, Lionel Messi went down and eventually off the game. In an already delayed Copa America clash, both sides were battering for a goal in regulation time. But a humongous setback came for ARG after they lost Captain Lionel Messi during the play.

Lionel Messi was brimming with emotions after he had to be substituted in the Copa America Final between Argentina and Colombia at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami. At the 64th minute, Messi went down on the ground as it looked like his old injury had aggravated and he fell down on the pitch. The Captain for the Argentina side was seen limping off, and was eventually substituted by Nico Gonzalez.
At the benches, Messi was seen crying as his teammates consoled him after being forced to go off-action. The captain was inconsolable as his teammates gave him the motivation. Messi threw his boots off in frustration as he went back. In another footage, Messi's right ankle is ridiculously swollen, which which could give an idea of his injury. His right ankle's condition looks bad.

Speaking of the match, despite losing out on Messi, Argentina is holding on to the momentum, while Columbia could not take much of an advantage from Leo's substitution. The match ended up goalless in regulation time, which led to the game heading towards extra time. But in the dying minutes of ET, Lautaro Martinez nets a superior goal as Lo Celso assists him with a stellar flick. The side is soaring high, and tensions were high among camps as they also brawled on the pitch. In the end, Argentina soared and they will now lift the title for a record 16th time.
