Lionel Messi's wife confirms exact reason behind Leo's new viral celebration for Inter

Lionel Messi proved again that he is one of the greatest players in the history of the sport after a beautiful display of performances in his last 2 matches for Inter Miami. On his debut, he scored a beautiful freekick in the last few seconds of the match to give his new club a victory over Cruz Azul. His first-ever start for the MLS team ended in a beautiful brace and a win over Atlanta United.

What happened during the match against Atlanta United?

On Wednesday, Inter Miami faced Atlanta United in another Leagues Cup clash in which the David Beckham-owned side emerged victorious due to braces each from Messi and Taylor. Lionel Messi usually does the “Thanking Grandmother celebration” while his head and both hands are pointed towards the sky. However, Messi had a strange celebration that made social media go frenzy.

She stated in an Instagram post that Messi's celebration was a nod to their boys Thiago, Ciro, and Mateo, who were in the crowd. Thiago turns out to be a great Marvel fan, with Thor being his favourite character. Thus, Messi's gesture was a tribute to Thor, the Asgardian god of thunder, with Messi visualising himself holding Thor's famed hammer and waiting for it to arrive.

Messi is anticipated to make his 3rd appearance for the club in the Round of 32 of the Leagues Cup. However, their competitors are yet to be decided. Messi has had a great influence for the MLS side this month as the player never fails to entertain the spectators.
