Wayne Rooney wants Marcus Rashford to break his record
Rashford revealed Wayne Rooney wants him to break his Manchester United record. Rooney tops the list with 253 goals for the 13 time Premier League champions. Rashford recently extended his stay by penning a new contract but the player claimed it's going to be an impossible task.
"You never know what's going to happen.
"But I’m all about scoring goals and trying to make assists, so there's definitely a chance that it can happen and I’ve actually spoken to Wazza [Rooney] about it.
"He wants me to do it. He said it would be good for me to do it because I've grown up at the club, stuff like that. Hopefully, I get the opportunity to try to make that happen."
He further added, "I feel like, at the age I'm at, I've still got a big opportunity to try to do that, with the timing too, I feel like we're closer than what we think."
Manchester United will open their Premier League campaign against Wolves on 15th August.
