'Might Not get a pass off CR7!': ENG Legend Prefers Playing with Wayne Rooney Over Cristiano Ronaldo

Cristiano Ronaldo is perhaps the best Manchester United player of all time, as he is the last ever player from Manchester United not but also the whole Premier League to win a Ballon d’Or in 2008. He rocked the football world under Sir Alex Ferguson and contributed significantly to the team's victory. His comeback in 2021 had a significant influence on the club's success. Despite his second stint with the team being terminated owing to managerial changes, it does not alter Ronaldo's excellent history with the Red Devils, which continues to resonate with fans across the world.

Football ICON Alan Shearer would pick Wayne Rooney over Cristiano Ronaldo 

Alan Shearer said he would have chosen partnering with Manchester United star Wayne Rooney instead of Cristiano Ronaldo. Shearers claims that unlike Ronaldo, Rooney was more willing to pass the ball. Gary Lineker selected Rooney right away on "The Rest Is Football" podcast when asked about his preference between Rooney and Ronaldo. Alan Shearer said: 

"I'm going Rooney - because I'd much prefer to play with Rooney than Ronaldo.".

“Me too, because you might not get a pass off Ronaldo!”

"Ronaldo's obviously a superstar. But I'm just saying in terms of who I'd prefer to play with!"

Cristiano Ronaldo and Wayne Rooney combined for 206 games at Manchester United, helping to produce 25 goals between them. Ronaldo landed eleven of these strikes. Cristiano Ronaldo departed from Manchester United in 2009 to join Real Madrid, where he created a whole new legacy, the Portuguese football legend went on to win 4 more Ballon d'Or. 

As of now, Cristiano Ronaldo dons the jersey of Al-Nassr, while Wayne Rooney has retired from football and has started his career in management.  CR7 will now be seen in action against Al-Hilal in the Saudi Super Cup Final on Saturday, August 17, 2024. The Portuguese legend is looking for his first major trophy with the Saudi club.
