Alan Shearer said he would have chosen partnering with Manchester United star Wayne Rooney instead of Cristiano Ronaldo. Shearers claims that unlike Ronaldo, Rooney was more willing to pass the ball. Gary Lineker selected Rooney right away on "The Rest Is Football" podcast when asked about his preference between Rooney and Ronaldo. Alan Shearer said:
"I'm going Rooney - because I'd much prefer to play with Rooney than Ronaldo.".“Me too, because you might not get a pass off Ronaldo!”
"Ronaldo's obviously a superstar. But I'm just saying in terms of who I'd prefer to play with!"
