The new era at Liverpool is underway as new manager Arne Slot has made a triumphant start to life in the post Jurgen Klopp era as they beat Premier League newcomers Ipswich Town in 2-0 in their opening game. 

It might be the beginning of a new era for Liverpool, but doing the damage for them was the familiar face of Mo Salah as he dazzled in the opening game once again and continued to extend his legend. 

Mo Salah's opening day legend continues to grow 

Liverpool were struggling against Ipswich Town early on in the game as the newcomers were giving them a run for their money. However, Mohammed Salah like he's so often done for Liverpool stepped up once again and helped his side break the deadlock late in second half when he assisted Diogo Jota to open Liverpool's account.

Salah would not stop their and went on to double Liverpool's advantage by scoring in the 65th minute of the game. This extended Mohammed Salah's opening day record as he's now the player with most goals scored in the opening day of the Premier League with nine goals.

Mohammed Salah's opening day record 

Mohamed Salah broke a Premier League scoring record in Liverpool's opening game of the season.

By netting Liverpool's second in the 2-0 win over Ipswich on Saturday, the Egypt star took his tally of goals in the opening round of a Premier League season to nine.

Salah previously shared the record of eight goals with Frank Lampard, Wayne Rooney and Alan Shearer.

The 32-year-old Salah joined Liverpool in 2017.
