Moises Caicedo: New twist to the 'Most incredible transfer saga of the summer'

The summer transfer window has been full of surprises as English clubs especially have splashed over a billion pounds this time. Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Moises Caicedo has been one of the most coveted midfielders and he has been the target of a number of clubs. His stocks have grown following a brilliant performance in the 2022 World Cup and since then he has continued to hone his skills in the Premier League. Liverpool and Chelsea are now involved in a tug of war regarding the transfer of Moises Caicedo.

Where will Moises Caicedo play next season?

Chelsea have always prioritised the signing of the Ecuadorian midfielder and reportedly lodged a bid for the player which was reportedly to the tune of £100 million. But on Friday Liverpool intervened in the deal and agreed to a  £110 million fee with the Seagulls.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp even confirmed that the Merseysiders reached an agreement with the club for Caicedo in the pre-match press conference. “I can confirm the deal with [Brighton] is agreed, whatever that means because we want the player and not any kind of agreement – we will see.”

Will Chelsea manage to secure a deal for Moises Caicedo?

As the two clubs agreed on a transfer Caicedo was supposed to travel to Liverpool in a bid to have his medical and fine tuning the other details. But in a bizarre move, the player remained in London as he has favoured a move to Chelsea and has conveyed his decision to the club.

Eminent transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano has also confirmed the development.
