New Barcelona manager Hansi Flick joined the club in June after club legend and manager Xavi was sacked following dispute with President Joan Laporta.

Hansi Flick has started overseeing the training at Barcelona as they look to arrive in pre-season in the best possible way to rectify their trophyless season into the new season. As Hansi Flick, takes over the former Germany and Bayern Munich coach has already started  to implement his changes and the biggest change he wants to make is - the Tiki Taka approach.

Hansi Flick wants Barcelona to move on from Tiki-Taka

There is no doubt that Barcelona with their Tiki-Taka approach of stringing passes together to open up spaces in defence and damage opponents revolutionalised football.

However, since the Tiki-Taka days football has moved on to a more direct approach now and a constant criticism of Barcelona over the years has been their reluctance to play direct often resulting in stale and ineffective possession.

Hansi Flick wants to change exactly this and recently came out and said that he understands the Blaugarana's traditional values but wants them to be more direct going forward. He doesn't want Tiki-Taka to take over and make it ineffective.

“Here, the tradition is to play touch and chain passes to create space. I want them to focus on getting to the goal sooner, to focus a little more on scoring goals,” said Hansi Flick.

Hansi Flick's warning to Barcelona players

One of the reported criticisms of Barcelona's troubles in the past few years had been that players used to train with lack of intensity.

However, the new German boss has fired his warning that if players don't give their 100% in training then they will find it difficult during matches.

“If you train only at 80%, you won't be able to give 100% in the game.' For me, training is the place where you evolve and you have to give 100%,” said Hansi Flick.
