'Not The Right Person': Pep Guardiola's BOLD Claim Over Manchester United Appointing Ruben Amorim
Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has given his bold verdict on Manchester United appointing Ruben Amorim as their new manager.
Manchester United officially announced the appointment of Portuguese manager Ruben Amorim as their new head coach. There's a lot of anticipation among fans over Amorim's arrival and he will take charge of the Red Devils starting from November 11th.
Manchester United's crss town rivals Manchester City 's manager Pep Guardiola was quizzed about Ruben Amorim's appointment and the Spaniard made a bold claim regarding the Portuguese.
Pep Guardiola Makes bold claim over Amorim
Pep Guardiola addressed the press conference ahead of Manchester City's Premier League fixture against Bournemouth. In the PC, Pep was asked about United's appointment of Ruben Amorim to which he answered by making a bold claim.
When asked about what advice Pep would give Amorim over his arrival in England, the Spanish manager congratulated Amorim and said that he was not the right person to ask about it instead Amorim should seek advice from people at Old Trafford.
“Welcome to United, to England. I congratulate him, next Tuesday. I'm not the right person to give advice to colleagues. They have a lot of people at United who can give information about what is happening at United,” said Pep Guardiola.
A pre-derby face off
Pep Guardiola and Ruben Amorim are all set to face off against one another next week when Pep's Manchester City travels to Lisbon to face Amorim's Sporting CP in the Champions League.
It will be interesting to see how Amorim fares against Pep before jetting to England and taking over at Manchester United. However, Pep Guardiola remains vary of the threat posed by Amorim's Sporting and doesn't expect them to be distracted by the news.
“I expect the best…I’m pretty sure they will do it. It’s a Champion League game against Manchester City. But you have to understand that my concern now is not that,” said Pep Guardiola as he urged to keep his players focused on the Bournemouth clash on Saturday first.
Ruben Amorim will wrap up his duties as Sporting CP head coach and will join Manchester United on 11th November. His first match in charge of the Red Devils will be against Ipswich Town on November 24th in the Premier League.
