Premier League: Andre Gomes' horrific injury
Everton were left reeling after midfielder Andre Gomes was taken off on a stretcher in the second-half following a challenge from Tottenham's Korean forward Son Heung-Min which saw the Portugal international collide with Serge Aurier. Son was red-carded following a VAR review, having initially been booked by referee Martin Atkinson for his tackle. Son was visibly distraught before being led down the tunnel, while players from both teams were clearly affected by the incident.

Everton manager Marco Silva insisted Andre Gomes will return stronger than ever after the serious ankle injury and insisted the entire squad is with the midfielder as he prepares for his surgery on Monday. Speaking during his post-match news conference, Silva told reporters that the club will support Gomes in every way possible. He also revealed that the entire dressing room is upset after the incident, which probably is their toughest moment this season. Tottenham defender Serge Aurier was also seen praying for Gomes' well-being.
