Premier League stars Mohamed Salah, Sterling set to miss international friendlies

Premier League: We look at the key players including Salah, Sterling and Pogba who are ruled out of the upcoming international fixtures with various reasons.

A host of players from the Premier League will be away with their respective national squads on international duty. Meanwhile, a bunch of players will be forced to miss the same citing various issues. Some key players were forced to withdraw from their squads having been called up, while some were just suspended for a game or two. We look at the key Premier League players who you won't be seeing donning their national outfits this week.

Mohamed Salah

Mohamed Salah will not be a part of Egypt's African Cup of Nations qualifiers against Kenya and Comoros after being ruled out with an injury. Salah was on target for Liverpool in Sunday's 3-1 win over Manchester City which took his side eight points clear at the top of the Premier League. But the 27-year-old has had niggling injuries since twisting his ankle against Leicester City at the start of October.

Fabian Delph

Everton midfielder Fabian Delph has withdrawn from England's squad for the Euro 2020 qualifiers against Montenegro and Kosovo after failing to recover from a hamstring injury. Delph sustained the injury during the 1-1 draw with Tottenham Hotspur on November 3 and was on the sidelines during Everton's 2-1 win at Southampton on Saturday. 

Marcos Rojo

Marcos Rojo was ruled out with an injury following Manchester United's 3-1 Premier League win over Brighton on Sunday. No official reason was given but he was forced to withdraw from Argentina's squad on Monday. Rojo is now set to remain at United over the coming fortnight to work on his fitness.

Scott McTominay

Manchester United Midfielder Scott McTominay was injured in the closing stages of the 3-1 win against Brighton on Sunday and had to be taken down the tunnel on a stretcher. The 22-year-old has withdrawn from the Scotland squad as a result meaning he will miss their fixtures against Cyprus and Kazakhstan.

Christain Pulisic

USMNT head coach Gregg Berhalter confirmed that Chelsea midfielder Christian Pulisic has been pulled out of the camp with a hip injury and will miss the upcoming games versus Canada and Cuba as a result.

Ederson Moraes

The Brazilian goalkeeper had suffered a minor injury, and he was subsequently ruled out of the Liverpool clash. Which started as just a precautionary substitution has aggravated into a muscular problem ruling him out for Brazil's friendly matches against Argentina and South Korea.

Raheem Sterling

We delve outside the injured players to a player who'll not be available for selection this week. After Raheem Sterling's recent bust-up with compatriot Joe Gomez, England manager Gareth Southgate released a statement that the City attacker will not be selected for England's match against Montenegro on Thursday. Sterling though will miss just the one game and would be available for England's clash with Kosovo on Sunday.
