Rodrygo's Participation in 'El-Clasico' vs Barcelona in Doubt Following Injury in UCL game vs BVB

Real Madrid won a gripping game at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium 5-2 against Borussia Dortmund in the UEFA Champions League. After Dortmund led two goals with goals from Donyell Malen and Jamie Bynoe-Gittens in the half-hour, Real Madrid made an amazing comeback. Real Madrid battled bravely, however, with Antonio Rüdiger, Vinícius Junior, and Lucas Vázquez scoring to guarantee the victory, therefore levelling both clubs on six points in the Group standings and remarkably encapsulating the perfect spirit and excitement of the Champions League.

Rodrygo doubtful for La Liga clash against Barcelona after Real Madrid's UCL game vs BVB

Real Madrid forward Rodrygo is doubtful for Saturday’s “clasico” against Barcelona after leaving Tuesday’s Champions League match because of a muscle injury.

Rodrygo was substituted by Aurélien Tchouaméni in the 85th minute of Madrid’s 5-2 come-from-behind victory over Borussia Dortmund at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium.

Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti said it is unlikely Rodrygo will play against Barcelona. The Brazil forward is expected to undergo further tests before Saturday’s home game.

Madrid trails Barcelona by three points in the Spanish league standings.

Rodrygo had ice wrapped around his right leg after leaving the field Tuesday.

The injury came just before Rodrygo assisted in Madrid’s third goal by Lucas Vázquez, which put the team ahead after a 2-0 deficit in the first half.

Real Madrid will play FC Barcelona on Sunday, October 27, 2024. Real Madrid will make the most out of their home advantage, and FC Barcelona will rely on their incredible La Liga run.
