'A DISASTER': Romelu Lukaku BLASTED for missing sitters in Belgium's shock loss to Slovakia at Euros

The Euro 2024 encounter between Belgium and Slovakia saw the first upset of the tournament as the Red Devils lost 1-0 in the Group E fixture. 

Belgium's shaky defending was one of the reasons behind their shock loss to Slovakia but a major culprit turned out to be their record goal scorer in Romelu Lukaku.

Romelu Lukaku's disastrous performance for Belgium vs Slovakia

Romelu Lukaku had a disastrous performance in front of goal as he continually kept missing easy chances throughout the game and in turn ended up costing Belgium all three points in the contest. 

It all started in the 3rd minute of the match itself when Romelu Lukaku found himself in a great spot inside the box but ended up shooting it straight to the Slovakian goalkeeper. And is always the case with Lukaku one miss is followed by a string of misses and the string of misses never ended. 

In the 6th minute, Romelu Lukaku was through on goal but ended up pushing the ball on the sidelines. As it turned out, Lukaku's failure to score meant that Slovakia converted their chance on the other end in 7th minute with a goal from Ivab Schranz. 

Lukaku once again was one on one with the goalkeeper in the 41st minute of the game but he ended up pushing it wide in trying to outpace the goalkeeper. Another blunder. 

In the 55th minute, Romelu Lukaku felt like he put his frustrations behind when he equalised for Beligium via a corner. But as it turned out the goal was ruled out for offside. However, in Lukaku's defence he did manage to find the equaliser in the dying minutes but the goal was disallowed due to a hand ball by his Belgian teammate. 

He ended up missing 6 big chances for Belgium in their loss to Slovakia and every one of those chances should've been converted by a player of his stature.

The fans on social media had a field day with Romelu Lukaku's constant misses and bad luck as they blasted the player for his performance.
