India's star defender Sandesh Jhingan has undergone a successful surgery in Mumbai on his knee injury and now looks to begin his comeback journey to the game. Jhingan had suffered an ACL injury during a friendly game that he played for Kerala Blasters against NorthEast United FC last month, which had him ruled out for six months.
Sandesh Jhingan took to Twitter on Thursday to share a picture of himself post the surgery and thanked all of his fans for their support and good wishes.

Jhingan is a huge loss for the national team but he has vowed to come back stronger, showing optimism on his return.
Sandesh Jhingan opens up post-injury
After suffering the injury, the 26-year-old had opened up about how motivated he was to get back on the field. Jhingan was also optimistic about his early return and spoke about his passion to serve his club and country once again.
Sandesh Jhingan has always been confident about the surgery going successful, and to the relief of his legion of fans, the defender now seems to be recovering at a good pace. Jhingan has been sharing updates of his recovery from the injury but he will not be able to return to the sport anytime before January 2020.
Meanwhile, Kerala Blasters, who started their campaign with a 2-1 win, are currently placed at number eighth on the league table with just three points from their first three matches.
