Julian Nagelsmann speaks on Germany vs Scotland
With midfielder Jamal Musiala having had a fantastic start to Euro 2024, Germany's manager Julian Nagelsmann tried to cool things down. In their first game, the hosts made a big impression on their rivals by winning 5-1 over Scotland. Germany came under intense criticism after losing two of their last three major competitions in the group round. They played a strong Scotland squad in Munich to open their Euro 2024 campaign.
Jamal Musiala of Bayern Munich, wearing Germany's number 10, gave a fantastic performance that drew a standing ovation at the Allianz Arena. The 21-year-old scored and created a number of pivotal moments that helped Die Mannschaft defeat Scotland and won him a lot of credit.
Julian Nagelsmann talked on his team's performance and Musiala's involvement after the game. Even though Nagelsmann had coached Musiala at Bayern Munich, he stressed the need of teamwork above individual accomplishment, claiming that the team's overall performance was what made the difference. Julian Nagelsmann said:
"I don't want to single out players,"
"It's super interesting to see how our players came to be internationals. They have different paths but the one thing that unites everyone is we are part of this group... the team won the game, not individuals," he added.
Making his Euro 2024 debut, Jamal Musiala created history by becoming Germany's second-youngest goal scorer in the competition's history. The Bayern Munich player was unstoppable against Steve Clarke's Scotland, whose defence could not handle his outstanding display.
With a crushing 5-1 triumph, Germany's campaign got off to the best possible start—the biggest opening win by a host country in tournament history. Next up for Germany on Wednesday is Hungary as they try to keep up their excellent record.
