Chelsea will play host to Dutch giants, Ajax, in their Champions League Group H clash on November 5, 2019, at Stamford Bridge. However, the Dutch-side will have to make do without their supporters for their visit to London as UEFA has denied Ajax from selling tickets to their fans. Ajax's fans were handed a suspension by UEFA after the fans disrupted their clash against Benfica last season. The fan's behaviour was also under the spotlight earlier this month during their game with Valencia.

Ajax will be without their fans in Chelsea clash
The European governing body has hit Ajax with a ban and also fined them £43,000. According to reports, UEFA has also handed them a 'conditional penalty of one year for selling tickets at an away match.', which means that the fans will miss out the entire Champions League season when Ajax is on the road. The defending Dutch champions released a statement saying that UEFA has ruled on the basis of incidents with their supporters at Valencia-Ajax and the suspended sentence imposed after the Benfica-Ajax clash last season. The statement which was released on their website also stated that the biggest sanction is that Chelsea-Ajax which will be played on November 5 will be without their fans.

The Champions League 2018-19 semi-finalists are currently waiting to get further instructions from UEFA about the situation before officially appealing to the European board. Chelsea has reduced the allocation for away fans from 3,000 tickets to 833 tickets to avoid issues like violence. But due to the ban, it looks difficult for any Ajax fan to travel for the match. Chelsea are currently in third position in their Champions League 2019-20 group while Ajax are on top with a win in both of their games.
