Monday, turned out to be yet another day when the immense popularity of global icon Cristiano Ronaldo echoed throughout the world. As the Al-Nassr team arrived in Tehran for their Group E fixture against Iranian club Persepolis in the Asian Champions League, the locals were aware of the coming along of Ronaldo and did everything they could to get a glimpse of the 5-time Balon d'Or winner. This was Ronaldo's first visit to Iran.

Numerous admirers flocked to Tehran's streets to see the Portuguese celebrity. Football supporters held up banners and pictures of the former Manchester United striker as they chanted, "Ronaldo, Ronaldo." In order to view Ronaldo, fans were even seen barging into the Espians Palace Hotel. Al-Nassr created a post on social networking site X ( formerly known as Twitter) where he shared bizarre images.“These are things that cannot be bought. Be closer and see the scenes of the arrival to the Iranian capital, Tehran,” read the post.

Many youngsters were seen performing Ronaldo's signature celebration; some even wore Al-Nassr and Portugal shirts with his name and number on them. "Mr. Cristiano Ronaldo, welcome to Iran. A token of appreciation, an original hand-woven piece of art made by Iranian artists to commemorate your presence in Iran, on behalf of Persepolis's fans," the fans wrote, according to news agency Reuters.
Al-Nassr in 2023/24 season
After scoring a goal last week in a Saudi Pro League match against Al Raed, Ronaldo will enter the Asian Champions League. For the fourth time in a row, the 38-year-old put his name on the scoresheet to help Al Nassr defeat Al Raed 1-3 in the Saudi domestic league. On the Saudi Pro League points chart, Al Nassr are presently in sixth place. After six games, Al-Nassr have 12 league points overall.
