There isn't even a pinch of doubt regarding the ability of Wayne Rooney. The Englishman, throughout his career, has produced uncountable moments of brilliance. Be it for Everton, Manchester United or his national side, his sensational skills have awed the fans.
And now, despite being 32 and playing in MLS for DC United, he still has it in him to produce a moment a genius. In the recent fixture between his club and Toronto, the 'Golden Boy' of England scored a sensational free-kick from 35 yards out, rolling back the years with his effort.
A couple of months back, Rooney produced a similarly stunning effort, which was equally good, if not better. In the dying minutes of the game, Rooney produced a moment of brilliance to turn a potential loss into a win for DC United against Orlando City SC. The English star, who joined the MLS club from Everton this season, set up a stunning late goal for his side with some incredible graft.
With the score locked at 2-2 as the game went into stoppage time, DC's keeper drived forward in an attempt to grab the winner. However, Orlando's defense managed to clear the corner and send it down the pitch.
The Orlando striker broke free on the counter eyeing a winning strike into an open net. Wayne Rooney, was the man of the moment as he chased down the attacker in top-speed and launched a last ditch tackle to win back the ball in heroic fashion.
England's all-time leading goal-scorer then got onto his feet and raced forward before sending a perfect cross to Luciano Acosta, who rose the highest to complete his hat-trick in the sixth minute of stoppage time.
Rooney began his career with Everton, before he joined Manchester United in 2004. After spending 13 years with Red Devils, he bid goodbye to Manchester and returned to his boyhood club. But after just one season, he left them and joined DC United.
