Alex Telles started the scoring two minutes before halftime, and Marcelo Brozovic doubled their lead on the hour mark. Captain Ronaldo added more brilliance to the scoreboard 17 minutes from time, but Mohammed Al Kuwaykibi pulled one back in the 85th minute.
Nonetheless, Al-Nassr won their third straight league game, closing the gap on the overwhelming leaders, Al-Hilal (50 points), who have played one more game. Ronaldo turned to Instagram to share a snapshot of himself celebrating in front of supporters, capturing the moment of victory. His caption read,
“Third consecutive win! We’re hungry for more. Let’s keep going Al Nassr!”
Ronaldo and his fellow players had suffered a league setback against Al-Hilal earlier this month, but they recovered magnificently, winning three of their following four games. This included one victory in the King's Cup quarterfinal and two victories in the league. Their next test is a league away game on Tuesday, December 26, against his former teammate, Karim Benzema’s side, Al-Ittihad.
