Sergio Perez' seat as a Red Bull driver has come under massive scrutiny in the past few races and with his crash at the Formula 1 Hungarian Grand Prix qualifying costing his Red Bull team a decent starting position once again, Checo's job has come under further threat.
As Sergio Perez once again crashed out Red Bull team principal Christian Horner was visibly furious at the result and when asked about Sergio Perez future he gave a blunt and frank response to suggest that team are close to sacking Perez.

Red Bull are currently leading the Constructors World Championship in F1 but there is no denying that McLaren have had the better pace in the last three races and are closing in on the top of constructors championship.
While Max Verstappen continues to perform for Red Bull, Checo Perez' poor races are costing the team dearly in the championship. And as it turns Christian Horner's recent comments seem to suggest Red Bull have lost their patience.
When asked about Sergio Perez's future Christian Horner all but confirmed that the team are looking to part ways as they can't afford to rely on only one driver.
“These kinds of discussions should happen internally, and not through the media, but it is clear that we cannot keep walking one legged,” said Christian Horner post qualifying in the media pen on Sergio Perez' future.
Red Bull Formula One's director Helmut Marko said that Red Bull will make a decision on Sergio Perez' future after the race in Spa during the summer break.
“We wait until the next race in spa, and then make a decision,” said Helmut Marko post qualifying.
Who can replace Sergio Perez at Red Bull?
Sergio Perez at the start of 2024 Formula 1 season signed a contract extension with Red Bull that would keep him at the team since 2026. However, there is a performance clause in the contract.
If Red Bull does activate the clause during summer break and sacks Perez then the obvious candidate to replace him till the end of the season is former Red Bull driver Daniel Ricciardo.
If not Ricciardo then Red Bull will look towards either Yuki Tsunoda or Liam Lawson to get behind the wheel of Red Bull.
