Fans have been noticing that several content creators whose identities revolve around F1 have been changing their handles all of a sudden and are reluctant to say why they are doing this. This trend is being seen especially in content creators who make monetized content and use F1's branding.

The rumor going around is that they are being asked to change their handles and usernames by Formula One itself. It is also being reported that Formula One is sending out cease and desist letters to these content creators who use the Formula One branding for their content.

Abrupt Username And Handle Changes

Several well known creators have changed their handles. These include Paddock Project who was formerly known as F1r The Girls. The creator did not mention the cease and desist letter while changing the name. The creator instead wrote that the new name is a reflection of where we are and are headed.

Another F1 influencer Mikaela Kostaras who was earlier known as Shelovesf1 has changed her name to Shelovesrooms hinted at the fact that she received a cease and desist letter as she asked her fans to imagine being told that they can't give away tickets, something which they bought. It is also worth noting that Mikaela had recently done something similar.

Shelovesrooms replied to one of the comments on her video and wrote, "There's a reason everyone is rebranding rn and it’s not just for funsies,” putting further fire to the rumors regarding the cease and desist letters.

Comparison To NBA

F1 commentator Toni Cowan-Brown recently stated that she had heard rumors that Formula One was sending out cease and desist letters for “at least the last six months.” She further added that F1 was targeting those creators who capitalize by using F1's branding.

She drew comparisons to the NBA who does not go after creators even when they post actual game footage on their channels. The Commissioner of the NBA Adam Silver had even gone ahead and said, “for the most part, highlights are marketing.”

Formula One had even cracked down upon it's drivers as a few years back, F1 had sent several legal notices to Lewis Hamilton after he kept posting clips on his social media.
