Max Verstappen Opens Up About His Friendship With Daniel Ricciardo As Aussie Speculated To Leave F1

Formula One World Champion Max Verstappen recently opened up about his friendship with former teammate Daniel Ricciardo amongst reports that the Singapore Grand Prix was the last race the Aussie was a part of and might be released by RB with no seat for next season. Ever since leaving Red Bull, Daniel Ricciardo has had a tough time moving to several teams since his departure from Red Bull. Ricciardo first had a stint with Renault and then McLaren, both places he failed to live up to the expectations the teams had of him. 

Eventually, he moved to RB where his string of bad performances continued and it seems his time in the sport is up now. 

Max Verstappen On His Friendship With Daniel Ricciardo 

Formula One World Champion Max Verstappen recently opened up about his friendship with Daniel Ricciardo. The duo is former teammates from Red Bull and Ricciardo had left the team due to them favoring Verstappen over him. Recently after the Singapore Grand Prix, Max Verstappen while speaking to members of the press emphasized his relationship with Daniel Ricciardo.

“Daniel and I of course go a long way back. We have always had a great relationship, great friendship, a lot of respect for each other as well, so he’s just a great guy.

“[We] get on well, it just clicks. There is no fake person, we just get along and are easygoing, we are like that. He will for sure be remembered as a very fast driver, I think everyone knows that, but also as a great guy in the paddock,” said Verstappen speaking to Sky Sports F1. 

Ricciardo Might Have Won Verstappen The Title 

The 2024 Formula One season has witnessed a heated battle for the Drivers Championship between Max Verstappen and McLaren driver Lando Norris who is trying to catch up to the Dutch driver. Red Bull have also witnessed a massive drop in performance which has left them vulnerable.

It is very likely that the championship will come down to the wire and it will be decided by the finest of margins. At the last lap of the Singapore Grand Prix, Daniel Ricciardo snatched up the fastest lap and took off a point from Lando Norris.

According to certain speculations Lando Norris was going to win the Championship by a single point which was denied to him by the Aussie driver.
