Formula One driver Valtteri Bottas has been in a lot of headlines recently ever since there is lots of speculation and rumors regarding his future in the sport as his contract is set to expire and he does not have a drive for next year. Apart from this, his F1 team Kick Sauber will officially be changing to Audi from 2026 onwards. Kick Sauber currently sit at the bottom of the table and are the only team in the sport who are yet to score any points.

Kick Sauber's Struggles

Formula One team Kick Sauber started the season on a disappointing note as they sit at the bottom of the table half-way through. “It's been a challenging year for us. We still haven't scored a single point which wasn't the target going into the season. We wanted to see an upwards trajectory from last year, and it hasn't happened. We started the season with not that easy a car to set up, and even on the pure pace, we were not quite there. We've made some improvement since, but more like baby steps instead of big jumps, unlike some other teams around us,” the Finnish driver explained when speaking on his team's performance so far this season.

What To Expect In The Second Half?

Bottas explained that he and his team have a clear direction for the second half of the season and that the team needs to work on adding more pace to the car to simply make it faster. “A lot of that obviously comes from the wind tunnel and the design office, etc. But yeah, with my performance, I've been happy, and my job for the remainder of the season remains to extract everything I can off the package every single weekend. That's my job,” Bottas added while speaking on the struggles of Kick Sauber.

Bottas is a fan favorite and is expected to be retained by Audi for the 2026 season.
