Jaipur Pink Panthers and Puneri Paltan met in Match 107 on Wednesday. Jaipur edged out Pune in what was their first win in their last nine matches. Delhi and Bengaluru have already qualified for the playoffs while Tamil Thalaivas have been eliminated. The remaining teams are fighting their hardest to get into the playoffs of Pro Kabaddi League 2019.
Jaipur Pink Panthers built a slow but steady lead
Both teams went about their business in the first half and there was no a spectacular difference between them. At the end of the first half, Jaipur Pink Panthers were at 20 and Puneri Paltan were at 13. In the second half, Pune tried to script a comeback and at one point - the scoreline read 22 for Pune and 24 for Jaipur. After this point in the game, Jaipur managed to keep their lead finally ending the match with 43 points to their name to Pune's 34.
The top performers of the match for Jaipur were captain Deepak Hooda, who recorded 11 points in 18 raids that he attempted and the top defender of the match was Amit Hooda, who recorded four tackle points in the five raids he attempted. On Pune's side, Pankaj Mohite was their top raider and their top defender. Mohite got 12 points in the 21 raids he attempted and got two tackle points in the three tackles he attempted.
Pro Kabaddi League: What next?
Jaipur Pink Panthers have maintained their position on the points table. This was their first win at home, and they will definitely be looking to capitalise as they are just one point away from the playoffs with a positive score difference. Puneri Paltan will now have to work really hard to push for the playoffs. Jaipur will now face Telegu Titans on Friday and Pune will face table-toppers Delhi on Sunday.
