UFC CEO Dana White broke the news of Chimaev being ill and was visibly worried about the health of his star fighter. There was no solid update regarding Chimaev's well-being up until now, but reports are pouring in with an update stating that he has bowed out of the fight due to food poisoning.

Khamzat Chimaev, who is unbeaten in his MMA career, made a stupendous impact in the sport in 2020, during the pandemic period. He was purportedly seen as the fighter who would soon carry a title strap around his waist but four years have passed and it is the injuries, disastrous weight-cut, and scrap-offs that have engulfed an otherwise brilliant career.
