Jamahal Hill Slams UFC For Giving Khalil Rountree 'Pointless' Title Shot Against Alex Pereira

UFC CEO Dana White on Friday announced the fight card for the UFC 307 which is scheduled to take place on October 5th in the salt lake city of Utah. Headlining the main event at UFC 307 will once again be Alex Pereira who will defend his Light Heavyweight Championship against Khalil Rountree. 

As it turns out, Khalil Rountree getting a title shot against Pereira hasn't bode well with a lot of people and UFC Light Heavyweight contender Jamahal Hill slammed his boss and called it pointless. 

Jamahal Hill slams Khalil Rountree getting a title fight 

Khalil Rountree was on a tear in the UFC when he won five straight bouts in the light heavyweight division and was supposed to face Jamahal Hill for the title bout. However, Khalil ended up failing a drug test ahead of his fight and was suspended from the promotion. 

But post serving his suspension, Dana White has decided to award Khalil the title fight despite being nowhere near contension in the standings and this did not bode well with Jamahal Hill. 

Jamahal hill took major issue with Khalil Rountree getting a title shot as he wrote, “Can’t believe what I just saw announced!!! So a guy pulls out of a contender fight because of failed drug test for a banned substances and gets rewarded with a title shot?!! This is terrible for the sport and makes the rankings completely pointless".

Khalil Rountree getting the title shot against Alex Pereira has many people confused as there were certainly more deserving candidates out there.
