Conor McGregor has strongly hinted at an injury, suggesting his likely withdrawal from UFC 303. McGregor is scheduled to fight Michael Chandler in Las Vegas on June 29, but the match is now in doubt, with an official announcement expected soon. McGregor recently pulled out of a Dublin press conference without explanation, and it is believed he has suffered an injury.

Conor McGregor injured before UFC 303?

The UFC is scrambling to either replace McGregor or find a new main event with just over two weeks' notice, but suitable alternatives are scarce. While McGregor has not addressed the injury rumors directly, he posted and quickly deleted an old video on social media.

"I think the more resistance you train with, the less movement and the more injury. The less resistance you train with, the more movement and the less injury," McGregor says in the clip. "A band balances itself. You might be going a little bit lighter, but the positions you wouldn't be if everyone was tense. Everyone was trying to win every round."

The uncertainty surrounding McGregor's first fight in three years contrasts sharply with Chandler's recent update. When asked about the fight's status last week, Chandler emphasized his focus on training camp, stating, "I've got this fight coming up."

The former Bellator champion initially remained vague but eventually confirmed, "The fight's happening. There's been a lot of speculation, but yes, it's on for June 29."

McGregor, who hasn't fought since fracturing his leg in July 2021 against Dustin Poirier, appears headed for another period on the sidelines. Since his 2020 knockout victory over Donald Cerrone, the Dubliner has yet to secure another win.
