Ilia Topuria, who successfully defended his UFC Featherweight Title against the division's veteran Max Holloway, has reacted to the comments made by football icon Cristiano Ronaldo prior to UFC 308. As an ardent follower of combat sports, Ronaldo is quite vocal about the fights happening in the circuit and actively presents opinions on who could come up with the goods in the ring. Continuing the custom, this time he picked Holloway over Topuria. However, as the reality differed from what he envisaged, Topuria left a befitting remark for the Al Nassr forward.

What Did Cristiano Ronaldo Say?

Expressing his candid thoughts, Ronaldo undermined Ilia Topuria as all talk and stated that his victory over Alexander Volkanovski may have come in the light of Volkanovski not completely recovered from his fight against Islam Makhachev. However, Ronaldo also stated that should he do well against Max then he will receive his due respect.

"Topuria talks too much… I feel like when he defeated Volk, it was because Volk wasn't fully prepared due to that kick. Let's see how he does against Max; then I'll consider giving him his due respect." Ronaldo said post Francis Ngannou's PFL world championship win.
