Legendary Bodybuilder and Four-time Mr. Olympia Jay Cutler advocates some of the important must-be-included steps for mastering the Back Squat workout. The 4-time Mr. Olympia has an elite status in the Bodybuilding world and is now leading a retired life but he always remains in the sport with his methodical and technical preaching.

Here Jay is talking about conquering the back squat as it is considered one of the best leg development workouts that primarily focuses on the glutes, hamstrings, and quads.

Conquering Olympia and that too 4 times is way too impossible for anyone. Jay has accomplished what he wanted to and his work ethic is being followed on a mass level. As he claims himself to be the Master of squats, here are the few tips he passes to the Young Bodybuilding aspirants.

Jay Cuttler's Technical Approach to Master the Squats

Loading...
  • -Keeping the Head Back: He emphasizes keeping the head back and up a little bit while going down and also holding the rod tightly makes the set very smooth and one will be able to take out more reps than usual.
  • -Going Full Down: The ass-to-grass approach has been the old-school bodybuilding preaching but it is supposed to be followed religiously if one wants to get bigger and more muscular quads and hamstring.
  • -Don't ever skip the Sets or Reps: If one wants to achieve the desired result then he must be honest toward his modus oprandy. Skipping the reps or even sets is a Big NO in Bodybuilding. Whether it's 2 sets or 3, 12 repetitions or 16, you should not leave the squat rack until you get done with it.
  • Must focus on Breathing and Breathing out: Jay firmly says that the breathing process is the most important part for getting the reps out smoothly and one should focus on that while performing squats, especially the back squats. The more you breathe in and breathe out the more smooth your reps will be.

In the 25 years of his bodybuilding career, Jay Cutler has tested or experienced almost every essence of the sport, and now after reaching the pinnacle of the sport and leading a retired life, he is giving important advice to budding bodybuilders around the world.
