NBA or WWE? Watch Embiid and Towns' ugly fight as Simmons chokes KAT
NBA: Karl-Anthony Towns and Joel Embiid recently got into a brawl during the Philadelphia 76ers and Minnesota Timberwolves game on Thursday, October 32.
Philadelphia 76ers Joel Embiid and Minnesota Timberwolves' Karl-Anthony Towns got into what was probably NBA's most high-profile brawl in years. The seven-footers were at odds all evening, so their all-out fight was no surprise to the viewers. The players wrestled each other, which ended with the benches clearing and Ben Simmons choking Towns as Embiid encouraged the crowd. After being separated, Embiid and Towns were ejected from the game. Philadelphia beat Minnesota with a 117-95 lead at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia.
The brawl began halfway through Q3 when Philadelphia were leading 75-55. The NBA stars wrestled each other to the ground before the officials cleared the benches in order to stop the fight. Sixers' Ben Simmons also placed himself in the scuffle, as he put Towns in a chokehold on the ground. Embiid then made his way towards the bench with a smile gracing his face.
Embiid scored 19 points and five rebounds, while Towns finished the game with 13 points and six rebounds. The home crowd cheered for Embiid, who shadow-boxed all the way to the locker room. Though Simmons was not ejected, he might be fined later on. Both Embiid and Towns took the fight to social media, commenting on the issue through their Twitter accounts.
