NBA: Giannis Antetokounmpo scored 30 points, 13 rebounds, and 11 assists in the second half to help Bucks rally from a 16-point third-quarter deficit.
Milwaukee Bucks' NBA season got off to winning start thanks to Giannis Antetokounmpo 30 points which helped the Bucks register 117-111 victory over Houston Rockets on Thursday. The Bucks who saw their NBA Most Valuable Player watching from the bench did not collapse under pressure. A collective effort carried Milwaukee to victory in the regular-season opener for both teams, as seven Bucks scored in double figures.
NBA: Antetokounmpo show against Rockets
In a game that featured the past three MVP winners, Antetokounmpo came on the top-notching up his first triple-double of the 2019-20 season with 30 points, 13 rebounds, and 11 assists. He also scoring 20 points in the second half to help the Bucks rally from a 16-point third-quarter deficit. He was fouled out with just over five minutes remaining. He also became the first player since Oscar Robertson in 1966 to post a triple-double in his opening game of a season.
NBA: Rockets duo fail to fire
The newly formed Rockets duo of Russel Westbrook and James Harden had a decent game but failed to take the time past the finish line. Westbrook finished with 24 points, 16 rebounds and seven assists, while Harden finished with 19 points with 14-of-14 finish at the free-throw line and two-of 13 shooting. He also registered seven rebounds and 14 assists. Clint Capela finished with 13 points, 12 rebounds, 3 rejections and 1 steal.
Antetokounmpo was happy with team performance in spite of falling behind in the first two quarters. He said that team effort was the key to the comeback win. The Greek freak said that even though the team faced adversity they didn't play their best basketball in the first quarter and second quarter.
