India's Paralympics Javelin Star Navdeep Singh Meets PM Modi, The Two Share A Warm Moment
PM Modi and India's Paralympics Javelin star Navdeep Singh shared a warm moment as the two shared a laugh and Navdeep Singh gifted the PM a cap.
India had it's best outing at any Paralympics games ever as India finished the global sporting event with a best medal tally of 29 medals. Out of these 29 medals, there were 7 gold medals, 9 silver medals, and 13 bronze medals. The 7th gold medal for India came at the end of the Paralympics as India's Navdeep Singh won the men's javelin event. Originally, Navdeep Singh was on a silver medal but due to the disqualification of the Irani athlete Beit Sayah Sadegh. Beit Sayah Sadegh was disqualified due to him hoisting a questionable flag which resulted in Navdeep's silver being upgraded to a gold medal.
Navdeep Singh had a throw of 47.32m which got him the gold for India.
Navdeep Singh Meets PM Modi
Recently the Indian contingent from the Paris Paralympics 2024 met PM Modi as he congratulated the para-atheletes. During the Prime Minister's meeting with the athletes, several interactions stood out. One of these interactions was the PM's meeting with javelin star Navdeep Singh.
During their light conversation with each other, PM Modi pointed out that Navdeep and the PM were similar as they were both left handed.
"I had ended fourth last time and that's why I celebrated aggressively after my throw. I had also promised you to win a medal before going to Paris. Everyone is happy that I made the country proud by winning a medal," said Navdeep Singh to PM Modi.
Navdeep Singh Gifts PM Modi A Cap
Navdeep Singh in his meeting with the PM got him a gift. During the meet, Navdeep Singh got a cap as a gift dor PM Modi. Navdeep wanted to put the cap on PM Modi. During their interaction, PM Modi sat down on the ground as Navdeep Singh put the cap on the Prime Minister's head giving fans a heartfelt moment between the two personalities.
