The Paris Olympics are rapidly closing in, and there are high expectations from the Indian contingent this year. The expectations to grab some gold are at an all-time high as some of the world's leading athletes are all set to visit Paris and represent their country. Before the Olympics officially commence, let's take a look at the athletes and prospects who have the highest chance to grab the coveted gold medal in the 2024 Paris Olympics.

2024 Paris Olympics: A look at India's top medal hopes
Vinesh Phogat
After coming off a gold medal at the Spain Grand Prix, wrestler Vinesh Phogat seems to be in solid form. She will be one of the biggest hopes of getting a medal in the women's wrestling section. A lot of attention will remain on her as she heads to Paris for her training.
Neeraj Chopra
As India's top track and field athlete, Chopra will be defending his Olympic Gold this year. There will be added pressure upon his shoulders, but given his form, he will strive for glory to become the first India to secure back-to-back medals. Neeraj last competed at the Paavo Nurmi Games, where he clinched gold with an 85.97m throw. Certainly, he can do better, but his best is expected to be on display during the Paris Games.
Satwiksairaj Rankireddy & Chirag Shetty
Although Satwik and Chirag haven't been in action since their first-round loss at the Singapore Open, they will strive for the big prize in such a stage. Despite winning two of their three group matches at the past Olympics, the pair just missed out on the quarterfinal spot. They will be determined to make a big leap in terms of performance.
The Indian men's Hockey Team
The Indian Hockey Team has been a dominant side when it comes to the Olympic Games, and it is expected to continue in Paris this year. Head coach Craig Fulton announced the entire team, with harmanpreetSingh leasing as the captain and veteran PR Sreejesh being the sole goalie.

Mirabai Chanu
Mirabai Chanu's success in the Tokyo Olympics can vouch for itself, and the weightlifter can go big, given that injuries do not bug her on the grand stage. After earning a silver in Tokyo, a gold will in her mind as she departs for Paris for the games.
Nikhat Zareen
It will be a debut for Nikhat Zareen as she travels to Paris for the Olympics. As a two-time World Champion, the Nizamabad-based boxer's form has been solid. Zareen is capable of establishing dominance, which could also lead her to medal glory.
PV Sindhu
PV Sindhu's form could be a debatable aspect as she hasn't been the best of herself lately. But she will remain as India's biggest hope in search of a medal. Sindhu hasn't disappointed in the big stage, and India's most successful Olympian will be hungry for more.
Lovlina Borgohain
Borgohain got the taste of silver when she was in action at the Czech Republic Grand Prix. Apart from Nikhat Zareen, she is India's other hope for a medal in the women's boxing category.
