Arshad Nadeem's honest reaction on being gifted a Buffalo
Post becoming an Olympic Champion, Arshad Nadeem was gifted a buffalo by his father in law. In Nadeem's village and culture, gifting a buffalo is considered an auspicious and honourable thing to do.
But as it turns out, Arshad Nadeem wasn't too pleased with the Gift and joked that a buffalo was of no use to him. Instead Nadeem's father in law should've gifted him land.
“When she told me Abbu (father) has gifted you a buffalo. I reacted saying he should have given me 5-6 acres of land, but buffalo is also fine. He is so rich and he gave a buffalo,” revealed Arshad Nadeem.
Arshad Nadeem's date with destiny
Arshad Nadeem made his country immensely proud by winning their first ever Olympics Gold medal. Nadeem achieved the enormous feat by beating India's Neeraj Chopra in the men's javelin final in Paris.
In a spectacular performance, Arshad Nadeem broke the Olympic record for the longest ever Javelin throw in Summer Games not once but twice. Nadeem in his second attempt threw Javelin at an enormous 92.7m distance to all but confirm his Gold medal.
Neeraj Chopra tried to answer back but could only reach the 89.45m mark which earned him a silver medal but unfortunately wasn't good enough to retain his Gold medal. Arshad Nadeem did not stop there as his final attempt also exceeded the 91m mark as Nadeem ended up breaking the Olympic record twice in one night.
