B-Girl Raygun Who Failed At The Olympics Takes The Streets Of Paris By Storm With Her Dance Moves

Australia's B-Girl Raygun aka Racahel Gunn is being criticized heavily for her breaking performance in the recently concluded Paris Olympics.

Paris Olympics 2024: The Summer Games that returned to the French Capital after 100 years witnessed many bizarre things. From Vinesh Phogat's shocking disqualification to athletes sleeping in the parks, the Paris Games saw it all, but nonetheless was a sporting spectacle. A dance form which goes by the name of Breaking made its debut in the recently concluded Olympics and straightaway grabbed eyeballs. It was Aussie breaker Rachael Gunn aka B-girl Raygun who mde her presence felt but unfortunately was bereft of a podium finish.

B-girl Raygun Enthralls Audience On The Streets Of Paris

Olympic breaker ‘Raygun’ is being talked about after her debut in the Olympics. The breaker who goes by the original name Rachael Gunn locked horns with b-girls from the US, France and Lithuania. A lot was being expected out of the Aussie breaker, but unfortunately she failed to earn a single point on the grandest stage of them all. Gunn pulled off some amazing moves including the likes of kangaroo hopping and swimming on the ground but it wasn't enough to get her points.

Raygun's performance sparked a major debate about the artform and its future in the Olympics. When breaking was introduced in the Olympics, it was considered as one of the event that gave creative freedom to the participants. But having said that, it is also crucial for someone to keep the physical and technical ability intact. Medal winners Ami, Nicka, and 671 balanced all of it out pretty nicely with dynamic sequences. Just after her Olympic debut, B-girl Raygun took to the streets of Paris and was greeted with cheers.

Explaining The B-girl Raygun Controversy

B-girl Raygun has been breakdancing for more than twelve years. Gunn won the Oceania Dance Championship in 2023 and earned in spot in the Olympics. Raygun did pull out few moves which was loved by the Aussies initially, but it later became a meme fest with people expressing their dissatisfaction. The internet now stands divided on Gunn's performance. Some have lauded her spirit and courage and the others have just despised her for her performance.
