'He interacted in Marathi': Bronze Medalist Swapnil Kusale Shares Highlights His Meet with PM Modi

On the occasion of India's 77th Independence Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with the Indian contingent who took part in the 2024 Summer Games in Paris, France. Big names like PR Sreejesh, Harmanpreet Singh, Manu Bhaker, and more were present at the PM's official residence to interact with him. Bronze medalist Swapnil Kusale was also a part of it and offered some details on his meeting and interaction with the Indian Prime Minister.

Swapnil Kusale details his meet-up with PM Modi on India's 77th Independence Day

Prime Minister Narendra Modi met the Indian Olympic Contingent at his residence 7, Lok Kalyan Marg in Delhi. Among them was Bronze medalist Swapnil Kusale, who won the coveted medal at the Men's 50m Rifle Three Positions event. He highlighted his meeting with the Prime Minister and called him a calm and motivating personality. The shooter also offered some details on the gift he presented to PM Modi.

"It felt really nice meeting PM Modi. It gives a lot of positive energy. I presented him with a Lord Ganesha idol. He is very calm and motivating. He congratulated me on my medal and I felt proud for it... He interacted with me in Marathi and motivated me...

"I will take a break for now but later I will start shooting once again, it is my life," Swapnil Kusale said to ANI.

Kusale was one of India's medalists at the 2024 Paris Olympics, where he won a bronze medal at the Men's 50m R3P event, making history. He became the first Indian shooter to win a medal at the particular event. Swapnil was among the few shooters who stole the limelight alongside Manu Bhaker and Sarabjot Singh. This year, India secured six medals, their second-best performance at the quadrennial event. The contingent's only silver came with Neeraj Chopra, who came second in the Men's Javelin Final.
