Indian Men’s Hockey Team Win Bronze Medal at Paris Olympics, Repeat Tokyo 2020 Feat

In a historic and thrilling clash, India triumphed over Spain to secure the bronze medal in men's hockey at the Paris Olympics 2024. The Indian team showcased exceptional skill, strategy, and resilience, clinching the victory with a decisive 2-1 performance.

Indian captain Harmanpreet Singh scored both goals in the final to help India repeat their Tokyo Olympics feat. India had defeated Germany in the bronze medal match at the Tokyo Olympics to script history. Fans across India are celebrating this momentous achievement, as the Indian team won Olympic bronze.

Skipper Harmanpreet Singh (30th, 33rd minute) scored a brace for India, while Spain's only goal was scored by captain Marc Miralles in the 18th minute from a penalty stroke.

The medal is fitting farewell for veteran India custodian PR Sreejesh, nicknamed ' The Great Indian Wall of Indian hockey', who drew curtains on his illustrious 18-year-old career with this match.

He will be bowing out as the best ever goalkeeper India has produced.

In the final later in the day, Germany will play Netherlands.
