Paris 2024: India Celebrates Nisha Dahiya's Attitude As She Continues To Wrestle Despite Injury

Paris Olympics 2024: It is safe to say that India has been a bit of unfortunate in the ongoing Paris Games. Starting from Lakshya Sen to the Indian shooting team missing out of a bronze in skeet, these are a few losses that have hurt India. Nisha Dahiya looked like clinching India's fourth medal but sustained a heartbreaking defeat against Pak Sol Gum of North Korea. Dahiya impressed everybody with her round of 16 performance but eventually crashed out of the quarters.

Dahiya had injured herself, but it is her grit, passion and determination that drove her as she kept on wrestling. Just like her mentor Sakshi Malik, Dahiya refused to give up and continued to fight to keep her dream of clinching Olympic gold alive. The North Korean, in all fairness made the most of the opportunity and won the game 10-8.

After the defeat, Dahiya broke down. The wrestler was inconsolable and the referee too tried to calm her down, but it was her Korean opponent Pak Sol Gum who consoled her in an unmatched act of sportsmanship. Netizens have now lauded Dahiya's performance and have lavished high praise on her.

Dahiya Puts Up A Brave Show In Paris

Dahiya was leading 8-1 in the quarter-finals and looked almost certain to reach the semis. But that's when fate struck and Dahiya had to call for urgent medical help. Dahiya's fingers were taped after a long medical break. The Indian wrestler looked in a lot of pain as the game was stopped twice in the remaining two minutes of the match.
