Vinesh Phogat has now qualified for the Quarterfinals of Paris Olympics with this victory. It was one of the most enthralling and exciting comebacks as Vinesh Phogat pulled off an exceptional last minute exit to win the encounter.
Vinesh Phogat's stunning comeback
Yui Susaki was controlled throughout the first four minutes as she took a 2-0 lead while Vinesh Phogat was passive in the encounter. However, in the last 10 seconds everything turned around quickly.
Phogat stared at the brink of an exit, as she was passive throughout the game, however in the final minute she pushed Yui outside the area in the final 10 seconds to get the two points and tie the score at 2-2. Vinesh would've gone through on account of most recent points.
However, Japan challenged the call and everyone inside the arena waited. As it turned out, Vinesh Phogat won the match 3-2 as her arms were raised and she went off the arena in tears of joy.
Vinesh Phogat has pulled off one of the most amazing upsets at Paris Olympics as she marches into the Quarterfinals. This is the first ever defeat of Yui Susaki in an international wrestling event as her record prior to this fight was 82-0.
A tough Quarterfinals
Post her stunning victory at Paris Olympics, Vinesh Phogat storms to the Quarterfinals. But in the Quarterfinals she will face a tough challenge as she will be pitted against eight seed Oksana Livach of Ukraine.
