'She Was Hiding Her Pain: PR Sreejesh Reveals Vinesh Phogat's Real Reaction When He Met Her In Paris

Vinesh Phogat CAS Verdict: Indian grappler Vinesh Phogat's disqualification is something that will go down in history and will be talked about for much longer. The Indian grappler who was certain to make history in the Olympics was disqualified on the morning of her final bout. Assured of an Olympic silver, Phogat weighed 100 grams more than the stipulated 50kg mark and missed out on the final round. Prime Minister Narendra Modi intervened and provided all the support required for Vinesh.
The Indian Olympic Association (IOA) roped in former Solicitor General of India, Harish Salve for her appeal at the Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS). The entire nation awaits the verdict in Vinesh's case. But amid everything happening around her, Indian Hockey Team's goalkeeper PR Sreejesh has revealed that he met Vinesh before the Indian team's bronze medal match against Spain.
She Is A Fighter: PR Sreejesh
PR Sreejesh believes that Vinesh Phogat deserves a medal after reaching the final of the women's 50kg wrestling competition in Paris after being disqualified for being merely 100 gram over-weight. The celebrated custodian, who retired from competitive sport after his second successive Olympic bronze medal, couldn't even imagine himself in Vinesh's position and said that he had no idea how he would have reacted to this kind of tragedy.

'She was strong. If I was in her situation, I don't what I would have done. The next day before our bronze medal match I met her and she said 'Bhai good luck, play well'. I felt like she was hiding her pain with that smile. She is a real fighter., said Sreejesh in his interaction with PTI.
PR Sreejesh Hopeful About Vinesh's Silver
The CAS will deliver its highly anticipated verdict on Vinesh's appeal against her disqualification from the Paris Olympics later on Tuesday night. "I am keeping my fingers crossed. Being an athlete, I just wish well for her. The way she worked hard, we know what she had been through last one year and from there she is coming back, qualifying for Olympics final, that is answer for all.
