Angela Carini reaction after bout against Imane Khelif
Angela Carini was left devasted by the incident and she didn't hold back her frustrations at the incident. Angela Carini made it clear and said that those two punches were the hardest she's ever been hit.
"Never Been Punched So Hard….I felt a severe pain in my nose, and with the maturity of a boxer, I said ‘enough,’ because I didn’t want to, I didn’t want to, I couldn’t finish the match,” reacted Angela Carini after the match.
Angela Carini said that she isn't here to pass judgements over anyone.
“I am not here to judge or pass judgment. If an athlete is this way, and in that sense it’s not right or it is right, it’s not up to me to decide. I just did my job as a boxer. I got into the ring and fought. I did it with my head held high and with a broken heart for not having finished the last kilometer," further added Angela Carini.
Carini further revealed that she was heartbroken post the fight with Khelif and how the things unfolded.
"I am heartbroken because I am a fighter. My father taught me to be a warrior. I have always stepped into the ring with honor and I have always (served) my country with loyalty. And this time I couldn’t do it because I couldn’t fight anymore, and so I ended the match,” said Angela Carini.
This is a major controversy in Paris Olympics one which brings a lot of question to light and the biggest question as to how did IOC allowed a boxer who had failed multiple gender tests to participate in the Summer Games.
