Referee makes huge error during Brock Lesnar vs Cody Rhodes WWE SummerSlam match

At WWE SummerSlam, Cody Rhodes and Brock Lesnar penned the third chapter of their conflict. Before engaging in a second face-off in the ring, the two guys had each won a single contest. An enormous mistake made during the game, significantly diminished the contest's momentum.

A major botch occured during Cody Rhodes vs Brock Lesnar match

The American Nightmare endured a lot of punishment from the former Universal Champion in the lead-up to the competition. It made the match one of the most eagerly awaited matches of the evening. Rhodes and Lesnar threw everything at each other on Saturday night. The Beast F5-ed his opponent on the announcer’s desk in hopes of earning the win. Meanwhile, Rhodes used the steel steps to knock Lesnar down, but could not pin him. Rhodes attempted to pin Lesnar while using the steel steps to knock him to the ground. This instance became a subject of contention.

Using steel steps to hit the opponent in a usual match leads to disqualification, however, for some uncanny reason, the referee had no issue with Cody using that on Brock. Maybe the rules are different for the alpha male of our species. While a disqualification could have given Lesnar the victory but since the referee chose to make an exception, the match went on and eventually the Rhodes conquered the Beast.

Cody Rhodes and Brock Lesnar make respectful gesture after their match

Following the culmination of the match, a respectful moment emanated between the wrestlers. The show of respect from Brock Lesnar surprised the fans as it is a rare sight. Lesnar raised the hand of Rhodes and made Cody's moment even more iconic.

With a 2-1 lead and Brock Lesnar showcasing regard to Cody Rhodes, this feud is apparently over.
