Rey Mysterio to get another WWE Universal Championship title shot?
Rey Mysterio was set to meet Seth Rollins for the WWE Universal Championship on Raw. However, a brutal assault from Brock Lesnar left him unable to compete
Rey Mysterio has been one of the most athletic superstars and amongst the best in-ring performers as well who is known for his athleticism. Coming to his title reign, the 'Master of the 619' has won three world titles in WWE. His first World Heavyweight Championship win back at Wrestlemania 22 in 2006 has been his longest title reign in the company. Rey Mysterio would then go on to win the gold once again in 2010 but his reign did not last long. The following year, Mysterio won his first and only WWE Championship but lost the title to John Cena on the very same night. Eight years later, Rey once again got the opportunity to win a major title as he was about to face Seth Rollins for the WWE Universal Championship this past week on Raw before his hopes were dashed.
Brock Lesnar decimates Rey Mysterio
Rey Mysterio had come out to address the crowd before his title match against Seth Rollins. However, he was in for a big surprise when Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman showed up as well. Lesnar entered the ring and snatched the mic from Mysterio. This did not go down well with Rey and he snatched the mic Heyman to confront them. A furious Lesnar then picked up Mysterio and delivered an F-5. The 'Beast Incarnate' did not stop there as he delivered another F-5 to 'The Giant Killer'. An enraged Lesnar then went towards Rey Mysterio's son Dominic who was seated in the crowd. The Beast then assaulted Dominic. He left the ring only to come back and attack both father and son once again. After Lesnar's brutal attack, it was revealed that Rey Mysterio was not fit to compete against Seth Rollins and as per reports their title match has been put on hold but there is no official confirmation regarding when the match will take place. Meanwhile, if sources are to be trusted then the Universal Champion Seth Rollins himself has promised that Mysterio will still get his title shot when he is fit to compete.
Nonetheless, Seth Rollins will first have to get the better of 'The Fiend' at Hell In A Cell for giving Rey Mysterio his much-deserved title shot. Brock Lesnar, on the other hand, will face Kofi Kingston for the WWE Championship this week on the 20th anniversary of Smackdown.
Here's the video of Brock Lesnar manhandling Rey Mysterio and his son Dominic:
Seth Rollins to face Bray Wyatt inside the Cell
Bray Wyatt (The Fiend) will meet Seth Rollins at the Hell In A Cell pay-per-view for the WWE Universal Championship which will be taking place at Golden 1 Center in Sacramento, California on October 6. Heading into the event, Wyatt has succeeded in intimidating Rollins in the last two episodes of Raw. This rivalry started after Seth Rollins was attacked by The Fiend after he had successfully retained his title against Braun Strowman at the Clash of Champions. There will be no way out for Seth Rollins and the only way that he can prolong his title reign as well as get rid of his biggest nightmare is either by pinfall or submission.
