Carlos Alcaraz Apologises For Smashing Racket In Sensational Meltdown During Cincinnati Open Loss

Post his stunning meltdown at Cincinnati Open, Carlos Alcaraz has come out and apologised for his behaviour in loss to Gael Monfilis.

Carlos Alcaraz was once again in the limelight but this time for all the wrong reasons as in a stunning show of frustration the Spaniard smashed his tennis racket to bits in his loss to Gael Monfilis at the Cincinnati Open. 

Alcaraz meltdown caught a lot of attention as no one quite expected such a meltdown from the reigning French Open and Wimbledon Champion. Carlos Alcaraz has now reflected on his actions and come out to apologise for his meltdown.

Carlos Alcaraz has enjoyed an amazing year after winning both the French Open and Wimbledon and also winning the silver medal at Paris Olympics after losing gold medal match against Novak Djokovic. 

As it happened in Carlos Alcaraz match against Gael Monfilis at Cincinnati Open the Spaniard couldn't control his emotions as he continued to make errors and nothing was clicking for him. In anger Alcaraz repeatedly smashed his racket in anger and repeatedly smashed his racket on the court in anger.

After reflecting on his actions, Carlos Alcaraz has recently come out on social media and apologised for showing anger in such fashion. 

“I apologize because my attitude yesterday was not correct and it is something that should not be done on the track. I am human, I had a lot of nerves inside and sometimes it is very difficult to control yourself when your heart rate is so high. I will work so that it does not happen again. Time to think about NYC,” wrote Carlos Alcaraz on X.

Given his defeat in the Paris Olympics final and his off day at Cincinnati Open it will be interesting to see how Carlos Alcaraz bounces back in the final Grand Slam of the year at the US Open. Alcaraz will certainly be high on confidence as he would want to win his third straight Grand Slam.
