Austrian tennis star Dominic Thiem attacked World No.2 Novak Djokovic relentlessly at the ATP World Tour Finals on Monday as the Austrian had a 6-7(5), 6-3, 7-6(5) win at The O2 in London to cruise into his first ATP Finals semifinals. Before that, Thiem proved to be stronger against Swiss legend Roger Federer as he stepped up in the decisive moments to win 7-5, 7-5 in London. The Austrian international will be facing Matteo Berrettini in the third group stage clash of the tournament. Let us take a look at the four probable opponents of Thiem in the semi-final.

Rafael Nadal

Rafael Nadal, who has 970 career win to his name has faced Thiem 13 times in his career so far. The 33-year-old had 9 wins against the Austrian international Thiem and has lost four times to him. In their previous encounter in June 2019, Nadal defeated Thiem 6-3, 5-7, 6-1, 6-1 in the French Open final to clinch the title. In the current tournament, the Spaniard registered a 2-6, 4-6 loss against Alexander Zverev in his opening match of ATP Finals tournament. Nadal must beat both Daniil Medvedev and Thiem to make it to the last four.

Daniil Medvedev

Medvedev has faced the 26-year-old Thiem three times in his career. And Thiem has two wins, while Medvedev has won once. Thiem, who has 272 wins in his career, has won 16 titles so far in his career. In their previous encounter, Medvedev eased past the Austrian 6-3, 6-1 in the quarterfinals of the Rogers Cup 2019.

The 21-year-old Tsitsipas, who has 100 wins to his name, has won three titles till now. In their previous clash, Thiem had a 3-6, 6-4, 6-1 win against the Greek international.

Alexander Zverev

The German international Zverev has faced Thiem seven times so far in his career. Zverev has two times while Thiem has won five times. The 22-year-old Zverev, who has 221 wins to his name, has won 11 career titles. In their previous encounter, Thiem had a 6-4, 6-2, 6-1 win over Zverev at the French Open in 2018.
