Rafael Nadal to marry in British-owned Majorcan fortress on Saturday
Rafael Nadal will tie the knot with Xisca Perello at La Fortaleza, which is Spain’s most expensive property where Gareth Bale had wedded earlier this year.
World No.2 Rafael Nadal will finally walk down the aisle as he gets ready to tie the knot with his long-time girlfriend Xisca Perello on Saturday at the La Fortaleza, which is reportedly Spain’s most expensive property. The couple got engaged in Rome last year but kept it private for the first eight months of their engagement, which was reported by a leading Spanish publication. Nadal had spoken to the same publication about his love for children and desire to start a family. Nadal claims that as a parent, he will allow his children to pursue what they love to do, much like his parents did.
Rafael Nadal wedding venue
According to British media reports, La Fortaleza was where the 2016 BBC spy thriller The Night Manager starring Hugh Laurie was being filmed here. Welsh footballer and Real Madrid star Gareth Bale also married his partner Emma Rhys-Jones at the same venue earlier this year.
La Fortaleza, located in north-east Majorca, was purchased by Lord Lupton in 2011 for £30 million and it is believed that its current market value stands at £75 million, according to media reports in Spain.
Rafael Nadal wedding guest list
Juan Carlos I, the King of Spain for more than four decades until his abdication in June 2014, is on the guest list and is expected to arrive by helicopter if he attends. Retired tennis player and Nadal's current coach Carlos Moya, will be among the 350 guests as well. The list will also include NBA star Pau Gasol. Interestingly, Nadal's long-term rival and tennis legend Roger Federer has been invited for the wedding along with his wife Mirka, but the duo have confirmed to a leading British daily that they won't be making it to Spain for it.
Rafael Nadal relationship with Xisca Perello
Nadal and Xisca have been dating for 14 years. According to reports, the soon-to-be-bride left her job in insurance to become the project director for the Rafa Nadal Foundation, the charity he founded nearly ten years ago. Nadal's fiance made a public appearance at this year's Australian Open, where Nadal revealed that Xisca had been given a “wildcard”.
