Stefanos Tsitsipas' funny reaction on ATP World Tour Finals debut

Stefanos Tsitsipas, who will be making his ATP Finals debut, hilariously reacted in an interview on Monday. The Greek Tennis player funnily said that he did not know that he was playing the year-end finals. Tsitsipas takes on Daniil Medvedev in the centre court at 7:30 pm (IST) on Monday.

The ATP Tour posted a short video on their official Twitter account. In the video, Stefanos Tsitsipas can be seen saying, “No Way! Ohh really? I didn’t know that” after ATP captioned it as “Hey @StefTsitsipas, guess what? You're making your #NittoATPFinals debut TODAY.” Earlier ATP had shared a video of Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal having a candid chat.

Stefano Tsitsipas takes on Daniil Medvedev

Stefanos Tsitsipas is currently ranked 6th in the ATP Rankings will take on Medvedev on Monday. Both players making their ATP Finals debut will look to build on their stellar runs in 2019. Medvedev, who is seeded 4th in the tournament, has a favourable record against his Greek opponent. The Russian has a 5-0 advantage over Tsitsipas, though the games have been very close.

Stefanos Tsitsipas has had a smooth transition from the younger levels to the senior stage. Last year, he had won the NextGen ATP finals and will look to continue his good run after securing his 50th win of the season in the Rolex Paris Masters.  The 21-year-old is the youngest player to be ranked in the Top 10 in the ATP World Rankings. His career-best 5th rank is the highest by a Greek player in Tennis history.

ATP World Tour kicks off

The ATP Finals took centre stage in London on Sunday. The tournament is contested between the 8 highest ranked singles and doubles players in the ATP World Rankings. The top 8 eight are divided into two groups with World No.1 Nadal, Medvedev, Tsitsipas and Zverev drawn in Group Agassi while Group Borg has the likes of 5-time winner Djokovic, World No.3 Federer, Thiem and Berrettini.
